2/16/2020 A Community Helping a Family in NeedBy Emma BlairIf there’s one thing that has always been a strong characteristic of Ogden, it’s the community’s ability to come together and help each other out in times of need. Right now, there is one particular family that has been struggling. Andrew Skinner and his wife just recently had their baby girl, Elliana Grace. She was born November 7, 2019 and is facing a lung transplant. On Monday, February 10, there was a Tip Night held at Pizza Ranch in order to raise some money for the Skinner family. It was super successful, and it was the biggest tip night that Pizza Ranch has ever had! The teachers of OHS did an awesome job of serving everyone who came in! For every adult buffet ordered with one of the coupons, $2 was donated straight to the family. There were also tip jars on the tables for free will donations. At Pizza Ranch alone, there was $4,533.12 raised and 405 tickets turned in! On Tuesday night’s varsity basketball game, there was a bucket pass donation held by the student body. The cheerleaders passed around the buckets during halftime of the boys’ game. The buckets made an additional $350! There have also been many donations made in the office from around town. The overall total amount raised for the Skinner family comes in at $6,200, and there are more donations being brought in every day! Thank you to everyone who grabbed a coupon and came out to support on Monday night or who gave money in one of the various free will donations! Every dollar counts! Comments are closed.
